*Real production examples are key to most DigiPro content. As securing approval to share such production content can take time, we recommend that contributors begin that process early, rather than waiting for acceptance. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the chairs with questions about rights and permissions.

The Digital Production Symposium (DigiPro 2023) brings together the world’s premier creators of digital visual effects, animation, and interactive experiences. Artists, producers, engineers, and scientists gather to share solutions, challenges, insights, and novel ideas that bring innovation to real-world production.

Topics

We welcome submissions on any topic related to digital motion picture production or interactive content creation, including both those which had a strong impact and those that failed spectacularly. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Practical production processes and workflows
  • Computer graphics research for visual effects and animated features
  • Emerging production technologies: cinematic VR/AR, virtual production, AI, etc.

We encourage submissions from diverse and underrepresented voices within the visual effects and digital content creation industries.

We are excited to host talks that catalyze discussions and leave the audience inspired to explore further. Code sharing is encouraged whenever possible. Each presentation should be grounded in some way in practical production experience. Talks should not be sales pitches or product promotions; nor should they be primarily production overviews.

Each submission should convey:

  • The key idea or innovation
  • Technical substance and detail
  • Associated production experience
  • Insights and lessons learned

Format

Submissions may take the form of a technical paper or an extended abstract with associated visual material. Novel proposals and formats are welcome, but submissions must provide sufficient technical detail to demonstrate relevance to the audience. Submissions will be reviewed by an International Program Committee. Presentations are generally 25 minutes, including Q&A.

Accepted papers will be presented both at the symposium and published in the ACM Digital Library. Note that although we do not require specific formatting at submission time, the final version of the main publication for the ACM Digital Library should be prepared according to the ACM SIGGRAPH Author Instructions. (Supporting videos and other supplemental materials for the ACM Digital Library do not have such specific requirements.)

How to submit

Written material should be submitted in PDF form; videos should be Quicktime, MPEG, or AVI.

To make a submission, visit the DigiPro 2023 site on EasyChair.

If you do not already have an EasyChair account, you will need to create one.

Helpful hints for new and experienced authors.

Details

DigiPro 2023 will be held in Los Angeles, California, on Saturday, August 5, 2023 (immediately preceding SIGGRAPH 2023). Presentations will be in person on August 5. Note that the publication date of the proceedings may be as early as July 15.

New for 2023: accepted authors can have their in-person presentations recorded and subsequently added to their publications in the ACM Digital Library. While this is entirely optional, we are excited about this opportunity for increased sharing with members of the community who cannot attend in person.

Submission Deadline: May 12, 2023, 11:59pm PDT (UTC-7:00)
